On Tuesday evening, September 22, 2020, the Muscle Shoals Region – AACA held its regular monthly meeting. This evening we gathered at Burger King on Cox Creek Parkway in Florence, Alabama. Those traveling from the East and those traveling into Florence from Muscle Shoals and Sheffield ran into a bit of rain, but at the meeting location, the weather was great. Start time of the meeting was moved up to 6:00 (1800 hours) because of the earlier sunset.
Ten members were present, along with two spouses. Nine members
brought a collector car. Bobby Brown drove his 1990 Ford Mustang LX
convertible, Larry Creel brought his 1950 Ford Custom two door sedan,
Bryan Hamilton drove his 1977 Corvette coupe, Tom & Shelia Dugger drove
their 1990 Ford Bronco 4X4, Ted & Willie Sue Geiger brought their 1965 Ford
Mustang coupe, Charlie Grimmitt drove his 1965 Ford Mustang coupe,
Judy Jennings brought her 1955 Ford Mainline two door sedan, Byron Thornton
drove his 1965 Pontiac GTO coupe and Bill Davis drove a 1951 Plymouth
Cambridge four door sedan. Also present was James Goode. There were no visitors present.
Old Business: There was no old business.
New Business: There was no new business.
Most members brought lawn/folding chairs. After ordering something to eat, we sat out on the parking lot and talked among ourselves about family, old cars or whatever topic came up. Tom & Sheila Dugger had a For Sale sign on their 1990 Ford Bronco 4X4 and talked to several members about purchasing the truck.
Bryan Hamilton held a raffle to give away some car care products supplied by the folks at O’Reilly Auto Parts on Cloverdale Road in Underwood/Petersville. The winners were:
-Byron Thornton – bottle of spray wax
-Charlie Grimmitt – bottle of spray tire shine
-Ted Geiger – bottle of car wash
-James Goode – O’Reilly wash bucket
-Bobby Brown – car wash mitt
-Bill Davis – pack of microfiber cloths
-Judy Jennings – bottle of wheel shine
-Tom Dugger – bottle of spray tire shine
Congratulations to all the raffle winners. If/when you need anything automotive, please consider supporting our friends at O’Reilly Auto Parts. A big “Thank you” to our supplier.
After more visiting and looking at fine collector cars, our meeting was adjourned.
Our next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, October 27. The location has not been set at this time. The time and site will be broadcast at a later date.
